Service Policy
Revision Date: June 20, 2025
Implementation Date: June 30, 2025
Overview
This document contains the overall Service Policy of Boost, and the services of Boost are operated based on this policy.
If this document is revised, members will be notified via email and announcements one week prior to implementation.
Profile
Definition of Profile
The Profile refers to the information on the method of roasting specific green coffee beans.
The Profile includes types of beans used, input amounts, ambient temperature graphs, and heat source manipulation methods (recipes).
Notes made during roasting also fall within the scope of the Profile.
Profile Upload
All Profiles are uploaded to Boost immediately after roasting.
Even if the Roaster is not registered with Boost, it will be uploaded to Stronghold's server if the Roaster is connected to the network to ensure smooth service provision.
Profiles uploaded to the server can be used for statistics, data collection for service improvement, and reference during Roaster A/S, but they will not be restructured or distributed to third parties without the creator's or owner's permission under any circumstances.
If the Roaster is registered with Boost, all Profiles generated from that Roaster will be automatically displayed in the Roastery it is affiliated with.
Profile Deletion
Boost does not support Profile deletion, and Profiles continue to be stored on the server.
If a Roaster is deregistered from Boost, Profile data separated from personal information will be retained on the server, and their status will be changed to invisible on the member's Roastery screen.
Rights of Profile
All Profiles belong to the Roaster (device), not Boost's Roastery.
If a Roaster is deregistered from Boost, Profiles cannot be viewed on Boost.
Even if it's a Profile you created and stored in the Archive, if the Roaster is not currently registered in your Roastery, that Profile cannot be shared.
Even if the registration status is maintained, Profiles stored in the Archive cannot be shared.
All rights to Profiles created by the Roaster are granted to the contract holder (Roastery owner) who owns the Roaster.
Usage, editing, and sharing rights can be transferred to other members within the Roastery.
Profiles uploaded to Boost may be partially used by Stronghold for content creation purposes with the agreement of the Profile creator or owner.
In such cases, Stronghold must display the information of the Profile creator or owner.
Roastery
Roastery Management
Creating Roastery
All members of Boost can freely create Roasteries.
The maximum number of Roasteries that can be created is limited to three.
Participation in Roastery
All members of Boost can participate in other Roasteries via invitation.
Participation in Roastery can only proceed through invitations from either the Roastery owner or a member authorized by the owner. (private)
The maximum number of Roasteries that can be joined without owning is limited to three.
Including owned Roasteries, the maximum total number of Roasteries that can be affiliated is six.
Leaving Roastery
Roastery departure can be done through one of three ways.
A participating member can directly leave by clicking the leave button on the Roastery home screen.
By resigning from Boost membership and deleting the account, all owned/participated Roasteries can be left simultaneously.
Even if the account is deleted due to member sanctions, all affiliated Roasteries are left simultaneously.
A member can be forcibly expelled by the Roastery owner or a member with expulsion rights from the owner and leave the Roastery.
Forcible expulsion of a member is carried out by the owner/administrator without the consent of the departing member.
Members are also forcibly expelled if the Roastery is deleted by the owner.
Upon leaving a Roastery, all rights to the Roastery held by the departing member are immediately deleted.
Records created by the departing member are not deleted and are maintained, with the creator's nickname at time of departure and information stating 'departed user' displayed together.
Even if the departing member changes their nickname after leaving, the records are not affected.
If the member re-joins the Roastery, the nickname displayed in the records is updated to the current nickname.
After leaving, rejoining the same Roastery by invitation is possible.
Even when rejoining the same Roastery after leaving, only viewing rights are granted, not the rights held before leaving.
Deleting Roastery
Roastery deletion can only be carried out by the Roastery owner, who can directly delete the Roastery anytime by pressing the delete button on the Roastery management screen.
In case of illegal use detected in a Roastery, the Boost administrator may arbitrarily restrict use without the owner's consent.
Roastery deletion proceeds after deregistering all Roasters registered in Roastery.
Upon Roastery deletion, an email notification regarding the deletion is sent to all members affiliated with the deleted Roastery.
Upon Roastery deletion, all members affiliated with the Roastery other than the owner lose all rights to the Roastery immediately. (forcible expulsion)
Upon Roastery deletion, the Roaster button in the navigation menu is hidden from all members, including the owner, and they cannot access the Roastery.
Upon Roastery deletion, Roastery member history is immediately discarded, and usage data is retained in a form that cannot be traced back to member information.
Data is used solely for Boost's statistics and service improvement and cannot be retrieved or supplied upon request after Roastery deletion.
Information on the member who created the deleted Roastery is retained until the member withdraws from the service.
Green Coffee Beans and Blends
Management of Green Coffee Bean Information
Registration of Green Coffee Bean information can only be done by the Roastery owner or a member authorized with the privilege.
For managing green coffee beans, up to 100 green coffee bean information can be registered in Roastery during Roaster registration.
If no Roaster is registered in Roastery, new and additional registration of green coffee beans is not possible.
When registering green coffee beans, bean name, bean nickname, harvest month and year, bean variety, bean processing methods, and other information can be recorded together.
Among registered bean information, bean nickname and notes can be modified.
Registered bean information can be deleted anytime directly by the Roastery owner or an authorized member.
If the bean is included in a registered blend, bean information can be deleted after first removing blend information.
Management of Blend Information
Registration of Blend information can only be done by the Roastery owner or a member authorized with the privilege.
For smooth management of bean inventory, up to 20 blend information can be registered in Roastery during Roaster registration.
If no Roaster is registered in Roastery, new and additional registration of blends is not possible.
Boost currently only supports registration of pre-selected blend information.
When registering blends, blend name, information on included beans, inclusion ratio for each bean, and other information can be recorded together.
Among registered blend information, blend name and notes can be modified.
Registered blend information can be deleted anytime directly by the Roastery owner or an authorized member.
Inventory Management
Inventory management of beans can be carried out using the following three methods, generating records of entry or exit for each method used.
Record generation through manual registration of entry and exit
Automatic record generation through bean selection during roasting
Automatic record generation through modification of Profile information
Records of Bean/Blend Usage
Confirmation of usage records for beans/blends can be done by any member of the Roastery.
Entry and exit records can be checked from the detailed screen of registered beans/blends.
On Roastery's bean record screen, records of all bean usage for any desired month can be confirmed on a single screen.
The 'View as table' tab allows downloading an Excel format report of all bean usage records for the month.
Treatment of Deleted Bean/Blend Information
To ensure statistics, entry and exit history data is preserved on the server, but members cannot access detailed pages of beans/blends or check entry and exit records.
Usage records for each bean can be confirmed on Roastery's bean usage record screen, but access to detailed pages for each bean is not possible.
Device Management
Roaster Registration
Roaster registration can be carried out using the Boost account via Roastware.
Roaster registration can be carried out using the modal displayed on the Roastware home screen.
Roaster registration can be carried out using the button at the top of the settings screen in Roastware.
By entering the Boost account in Roastware, selecting one of the owned Roasteries, and entering the Roaster nickname, a Roaster can be registered in the Roastery.
Once a Roaster is registered in a Roastery, all Profiles are automatically uploaded to Boost and displayed in the registered Roastery.
After registering a Roaster, it cannot be directly moved to a different Roastery; for this, the Roaster registration must first be annulled, and then re-registration must be proceeded with.
Roaster Deregistration
Roaster deregistration can be carried out via the Boost registration information modal displayed by pressing the button at the top of the settings screen in Roastware.
Roaster deregistration requires the Roaster to be connected to Wi-Fi.
Upon Roaster deregistration, its connection with the Roastery is immediately severed, and Profile and other Roaster information cannot be viewed on Boost until re-registration.
Upon Roaster deregistration, the button for accessing the Roaster screen from the Roastery home screen disappears.
Profiles stored in the Archive prior to Roaster deregistration can still be viewed, but cannot be shared or moved to another Roastery Archive.
Upon Roaster deregistration, all Profiles belong to the Roaster, and ownership and copyright of Profiles are granted to the Roaster owner.
Profiles not uploaded to Boost at the time of Roaster deregistration remain unuploaded.
If the Roaster is registered with Boost again, previously unuploaded Profiles will be uploaded and initial synchronization will be carried out.
After Roaster deregistration, the following usage restrictions apply according to changes in Roastery's device registration status.
If a Roastery is in a non-registered device state, the number of Profiles that can be stored in the Archive is limited to 30, and the functions for managing beans and blends are restricted.
Viewing information on previously registered beans/blends is possible, but additions and modifications are not.
When the number of Roasters registered in a Roastery decreases, the maximum quantity limits for beans and blends change proportionally to the number of registered Roasters.
If more bean/blend information is registered than the maximum quantity allows, viewing bean/blend information is possible, but additions and modifications are not.
If Smoke filter connection information exists with the Roaster, it is also reset upon Roaster deregistration.
Smoke filter Management
Registration of Smoke filter Usage Information
If a Roaster is registered in a Roastery, Smoke filter usage information can be registered on Boost.
The Smoke filter can be selected and registered from J7, J9, JT.
Smoke filter usage information cannot be registered independently without a Roaster.
When registering Smoke filter usage information, filter replacement cycle, current filter usage, recent cleaning date, and other information can be confirmed.
Smoke filter Management
After registering Smoke filter usage information, manual clicking can reset usage count or update cleaning date whenever filter replacement/cleaning is carried out.
Records of filter replacement and cleaning are preserved until Smoke filter disconnection.
After registering Smoke filter usage information, usage count of Smoke filter and filter is calculated whenever a roasting Profile is uploaded.
When registering Smoke filter usage information, notifications indicating the need for replacement are sent upon exceeding recommended filter usage.
Since usage count is calculated from the time Smoke filter is registered, the usage count is not retained even after deregistration and re-registration.
Smoke filter Deregistration
Smoke filter disconnection can be carried out from the Roaster screen within a Roastery on Boost.
Upon Smoke filter disconnection, all filter and Smoke filter information is reset.
If Smoke filter usage information is registered again, the usage count, filter replacement cycle, and other information will be shown in a reset state.
Profile Management
Checking Profile Information
If a Roaster is registered in a Roastery, all roasting Profiles conducted at that Roaster can be checked.
Profile information can be checked by any member of the Roastery.
Time-based temperature data and heat source control data for Profiles can be downloaded as Excel files.
Modification of Profile Information
Profile information can be modified only by the Roastery owner or a member given authority by the owner.
The information of modifiable Profiles is as follows.
Program Roasting Profiles - Profile name, bean information, notes
Manual, reproduction roasting Profiles - Profile name, bean information, input amount, roasting level, notes
If there is no input for bean information or unregistered bean information is entered in Profiles, only beans registered in Boost can be inputted as bean information.
Manual entry of bean information is not possible when modifying Profile information on Boost.
When modifying bean information or input amount, the usage record for previously entered beans is canceled, and a new usage record is created for newly entered beans.
Entry record for existing beans and exit record for newly entered beans are created.
If existing beans are unregistered, only the exit record for newly entered beans is created.
Modification of bean information and input amount is immediately reflected in bean usage records, but Profile information is updated after Roastware synchronization.
Linking/Synchronization of Profile Information
Upon modification of information in Roastware, communication with the server occurs upon saving, and information in Boost is automatically synchronized.
If Roastware is not connected to the network, temporary storage in the queue continues, and synchronization occurs upon subsequent network connection.
Bean information registered in Profile is automatically reflected in Roastware when reproducing roasting with the respective Profile.
Profile Comparison
Profile comparison can be done by any member affiliated with a Roastery with a registered Roaster.
Profile comparison can only be done among Profiles created from the same Roaster, with up to five Profiles selected for comparison on one screen.
Program Roasting Profiles cannot be compared.
Reproduction Roasting Profiles do not display air temperature on comparison screen.
Archive
Definition of Archive
The Archive is a space to save Profiles for reference or reproduction of roasting conducted on another device.
Every Roaster registered with Boost has its own Archive.
Every Roaster registered in a Roastery can use Profiles stored in that Roastery's Archive.
Saving Profiles in Archive
The Roastery owner or a member authorized by the owner can save Profiles in the Archive of the Roastery.
Save Profiles by selecting an authorized Roastery and then storing Profile in its Archive.
When saving the Profile in the Archive, a separate name called 'Save Name' distinct from the original Profile name can be set for storage.
Types of Profiles that can be saved in Archive are as follows.
Profile shared through messages
Profile attached in Community posts
Profile in my owned Roastery
Profile in a Roastery with sharing rights granted by the owner
The maximum number of Profiles that can be stored in the Archive of a non-registered Roastery is limited to 30.
There is no limit on the number of Profiles that can be stored in the Archive of a registered Roastery.
Upon deregistration, only the most recently saved 30 Profiles can be checked.
When saving Profiles in an Archive, save name, save date, and information of the saving user are recorded together.
Archive Use in Boost
Profiles stored in the Archive can be freely checked by all members of the Roastery on Boost.
If bean information is shared with hidden settings in Profiles, bean information is displayed as unentered.
If heat source value information is shared with hidden settings in Profiles, heat source value graphs and recipe information are not displayed.
Archive Use in Roaster (Roastware)
If Roaster is not connected to the network, Archives cannot be accessed in Roastware.
If the Roaster is not registered on Boost, the Archive icon is not displayed in Roastware.
Profiles stored in the Archive can be referenced or used for reproduction roasting by Roasters registered in the Roastery.
On Roasters, only Profiles stored in the Archive created by the same model are displayed.
Profiles stored in the Archive can be downloaded on Roasters registered in the Roastery and used.
Profiles stored in the Archive can also be downloaded by the Roaster that originally created the Profiles.
Profile details cannot be viewed on Roasters until Profiles stored in the Archive are downloaded.
Before downloading Profiles stored in the Archive to Roasters, only the following information can be confirmed in lists.
Save name, favorite status, source, bean information
Upon downloading Profiles from Archive to Roasters, the Profile name follows the save name.
Profiles created by reproducing roasting a downloaded Profile can be used again for reproducing roasting.
Among Profiles stored in the Archive, those with hidden heat source values can only be viewed on Boost and cannot be downloaded and used on Roasters.
Upon downloading Profiles from Archive to Roasters, the download location (folder path) within Roastware can be selected before proceeding with the download.
After downloading Profiles, they are marked as completed on the Boost Archive page within Roastware.
Once Profiles downloaded from Archive to Roasters are already downloaded, Profile information confirmation and reference/reproduction roasting are possible even if the Roaster is not connected to the network.
Profiles downloaded from Archive to Roasters maintain data on Roastware even if disconnected from Boost, allowing Profile information confirmation and reference/reproduction roasting.
Data of Profiles downloaded from Archive to Roasters are not influenced by modifications or deletions of the corresponding Profiles in the Archive; data on Roastware remain unaffected.
Even if the corresponding Profile is modified in the Archive, data on Roastware persist, and Profile information is not altered.
Even if the corresponding Profile is deleted from the Archive, data on Roastware persist, allowing confirmation and reference/reproduction roasting of Profile information.
Modification of Information on Stored Profiles in Archive
The Roastery owner or a member authorized by the owner can modify the save name of stored Profiles in Archive anytime on Boost.
Save names of Profiles stored in Archive cannot be modified on Roastware.
The Roastery owner or a member authorized by the owner can delete Profiles stored in Archive anytime on Boost.
Profiles stored in Archive cannot be deleted on Roastware.
When deleting Profiles stored in Archive, the Profiles are immediately deleted and cannot be recovered.
